The Pepper Merchant

The Pepper Merchant is a small-scale seed grower based in Ontario, Canada. What started as a kitchen experiment with hydroponic habaneros has grown into a dedicated seed business with more than 400 pepper plants and over 120 varieties. Mike and his partner Laura focus on selecting peppers that stay true to their type, carefully saving seeds only from plants that meet their standards.

The goal is simple: to offer reliable, high-quality seeds to growers around the world. Accuracy and consistency matter, especially when working with rare or hybrid varieties.

To support plant health through both indoor and outdoor seasons, The Pepper Merchant uses several CANNA products. They start seedlings with CANNA Start in early spring, use RHIZOTONIC XP to encourage strong root development before moving plants outside, and apply CANNABOOST mid-summer to support growth and structure.

Because of the shorter growing season in Ottawa, timing and reliability are essential. CANNA's products help ensure that plants are well-established before the first frost, which is especially important when growing for seed production rather than heat or pod size.
