Malvern Autumn Show

Since 2016, CANNA has proudly sponsored the UK National Giant Vegetables Championship at the Malvern Autumn Show, a signature competition that showcases the most impressive produce from expert and aspiring growers alike.

Our first sponsored edition marked a breakthroug: the championship drew over 360 entries from nearly 80 participants, and included several world records, like the world’s heaviest red cabbage (23.3 kg), longest beetroot (7.956 m), longest carrot (6.245 m), and longest radish (5.023 m)

By 2017, the competition remained a highlight of the show. CANNA-supported growers such as Peter Glazebrook and David Thomas captured multiple titles—including a UK record for the heaviest tomato (2.88 kg) and other top-ranking giant veg. On the education front, our team hosted seminars on plant nutrition and cultivation, while growing experts shared their experiences firsthand

In more recent years the championship gained even more visibility. At the 2022 edition, competitors smashed 11 new Guinness World Records, the most ever achieved during any Malvern show, spanning categories from heaviest pumpkins to longest root vegetables
